When Kari and AJ said “I do” in Houston, their color palette was just as light and airy as the celebrations. The couple opted for a vibe of unstudied elegance that also helped to beat the Houston heat.
Kari’s splendid bridal bouquet popped against the bridal party’s muted hues of blush and khaki. She incorporated some pink and white blossoms along with cascading greenery, working in Pantone’s color of the year.
She granted her gals some freedom to choose a dress to fit their personalities, really pulling off one of this year’s top trends - mismatched bridesmaid dresses. The groom and his men donned khaki suits with bow ties for a look that was equal parts relaxed and suave. The light blush of the men’s bowties perfectly matched the bridesmaids’ petal-colored dresses, giving the entire bridal party a soft look. Even the ring bearer kept the blush and khaki going with crisp tan shorts, blush suspenders and a lovely pink boutonniere.
Kari and AJ recited their vows in front of the glimmering waters of Lake Cieoria, which provided a stunning setting for their ceremony. The aisle was framed by two vintage glass doors, allowing for the perfect wedding photography moment.
The newlyweds kept it simple and sweet when it came to the cake. They chose a three-tier white cake with clean frosting and a band of textured detail around each of the two top tiers. This allowed the bottom tier to really pop with its ruffles of piped frosting.
Kari and AJ’s celebration continued into the evening with their friends and family. The outdoor setting provided for some stellar night photography opportunities as the sun went down.
